Founded by Jay Werner, Trusted Benefits Group was started in 2018 and grew rapidly across Texas. Before diving into Medicare, Jay served in many diverse and complex industries, such as Aviation, Finance, Oil and Gas, Transformation Consulting, Mortgage, Residential Construction and others. He has his pilot license and many industry certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL, Microsoft suite, Series 6 and 63, Long-Term Care, Annuities, and others. Mr. Werner has also served the communities that he has lived as an active, fully state-certified volunteer firefighter for more than 14 years, continuing to volunteer more than 60 hours every month. Jay is also a true world traveler; he has been around the world many times, appreciating and respecting the world’s beauty, cultures and people.

The birth of Trusted Benefits Group

With over 27 years of working for fortune 500 corporation, piloting, traveling, consulting, entrepreneurship, it has groomed and naturally placed Jay into the insurance industry in 2017. Realizing there were not only client servicing deficiencies but process and technology shortcomings in the field, Jay created an agency from the ground up. After meeting a colleague certified to sell Medicare, he saw being a Medicare advocate was more about serving and protecting the members than selling. Jay believed in the mission to help others while encouraging and educating seniors to participate in their health and in 2018 incorporated Trusted Benefits Group, LLC. 2018 was slow. Jay only sold seven policies in his first year. Seven! Fast forward five years, he’s now serving over 1,100 clients, expanded this company to 16 agents, acquired multiple lines of products including individual and group health and expanded to 9 other states. Their company principle is “Ethics over Earnings”, WOW!

Spark Partnership

Partnering with Spark is quickly disrupting the Medicare market, especially in Texas, and Jay was quick to pick up on our unique approach. He had a close colleague that was a part of the Spark team, who introduced him to the innovative technology and back-office support Spark offers. Jay recognized this anomaly in a partner organization and was blown away within minutes of hearing about Spark’s common-sense approach and the seasoned professionals leading the company. 

Trusted Benefits group had been looking for a team like Spark for a long time.
